NKHTGT, the Dutch organized historic racing series for FIA touring cars and GT’s built between 1947 and 1965, has announced an exciting calendar for 2023. With a total of 12 races on 6 circuits in 5 different countries, it upholds its reputation for offering unrivalled variety and plenty of track time combined with very affordable entry fees.
The programme kicks off in the last weekend of April at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Then we move on to Zandvoort, on May 5-7. We are excited to be back at the oldest historic racing event in the Netherlands, the Historic Zandvoort Trophy. Every year we try to visit a new circuit and for 2023 we have managed to secure a very special location: for the first time in its 27-year history NKHTGT will compete at the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in the UK. A legendary track with a huge history, that every self-respecting historic driver must have raced at once! Speaking of legendary tracks, of course we will be racing at Spa-Francorchamps, as always during the Spa Summer Classic, which will take place in 2023 from July 7 to 9. After the summer break, we will make our way to the Assen TT circuit for the second edition of the Assen Classic Grand Prix, on September 8, 9 and 10. NKHTGT will finish the 2023 season with a double-header at the Dijon-Prenois circuit in Burgundy, France. We will once again run a 2-hour long-distance race there on Saturday, October 7, followed on Sunday by a concluding 30-minute sprint race.
The regulations and Package Deal for 2023 are still being finalized at the moment, the aim being to change as little as possible. These will be published as soon as possible. NKHTGT was founded in 1996 as the Dutch Championship for Historic Touring Cars and GTs. Today, it has evolved into an international series specifically for touring cars, GTs and GTPs built between 1947 and 1965. All participating cars are prepared according to FIA Appendix K rules and a valid Historic Technical Passport is required. This ensures large starting fields and exciting races with historically correct cars. To participate as a driver, an international license D1 or higher is required.
